A Scary Mishap.

On Sunday, after Church, we headed to our mini van to load up the kids and head to lunch. As we were loading up the babies, Amy Schoonover stopped because she just "had to take a peak at Jax". Jax and her share a special love for one another :) IF you really must know what that is, just ask, but for the sake of embarassing some of you, I will spare you the details. We spoke for a few moments and then off we headed to the "Salem Place" to eat.

About 2-3 three minutes after we left the Church parking lot, I heard a loud thud. I thought intensely to myself, "What the heck was that?" But I never turned around to make sure everything in the back was okay. That changed immediately after a small delayed reaction on Jax's part and then an very LOUD crying out in pain.

Apparently, after Amy approached the vehicle, I stopped the process of buckeling Jax up. STUPID ME. Jax fell out of his car seat and onto the floor board of the mini van. Thankfully we were only going about 5 miles an hour. Jax's carseat is still sitting in the rear facing position, but when I turned around to rescue him from the floor, Jax was on his belly facing forward. He did an entire 180.

Sadly to say, I have done this twice before with Lilah, but she didn't fall out of her car seat. I drove all the way home from Valley View Mall with Lilah unbuckled before noticing it. YIKES. The other time, Tyson insisted I stop the car because his sister wasn't buckled and sure enough he was absolutely correct. Praise God that he had His loving arms around them during these times when mommy was MORE than irresponsible and distracted.
*MOMMIES be sure to buckle up your babies.*
Amy is now banned from any parking lot conversations with us :)

TWICE THE FUN!

Enjoy a video clip of life with CRAWLING twins. Jax started about 3 weeks ago and Lilah trailed behind him by about 2 weeks.

Please pray extra hard for me, from here on out, that this new milestone doesn't phase me anymore than having twins did. In some strange way, I enjoy the fact that they can crawl. It's nice that they can explore their way around our home. I just pray for their safety. We haven't done any baby proofing yet. I'm not sure we plan to do too much of anything. If anything, we will probably install a baby gate at the top of our steps, especially after the small scare I had the other day. Jax was 1/2 inch away from falling down the entire flight of steps. And everyone wonders why I have hives. LOL!

Some Things Just Never Change!

As Lilah and Jax's mobility increases life seems to get more and more interesting as well as adventurous. It never fails... there is an eery feeling about silence filling a room when (2) 11 month olds exist in that room. Today, that eery silence took place. And to no avail the silence was definitely for a reason, but just not a good reason. Lilah was into NO GOOD. As I peaked around my kitchen island to look for the twins, I was stopped dead in my tracks, disgusted and amazed, that my sweet, innocent, little girly girl was devouring Ninja's dry dog food. I am so thankful I hadn't fed him his wet food yet. I didn't panic as bad as I did when Tyson once did this. Some things just never change. Tyson, too, once loved dog food.

Below, you will be able to see, from the photos, that Lilah was thoroughly enjoying this "snack", that when I took it away from her, she was more than unhappy, and that Jax saw this opportunity and thought, "Heck Yea. Now, that's what I'm talking about." He had a smile on from ear to ear and he couldn't wait to get his hands on Ninja's food too. That kid will eat just about anything. But mommy removed the dog bowl and put it up on the counter. Sorry Jaxey.

I honestly am stunned that Lilah enjoyed the dry dog food. Lilah is the pickiest eater out of everyone in my household. She won't eat fresh strawberries or homemade mashed potatoes, but she LOVES dog food. Her big brother is the same. He loves broccoli and boogers, but won't eat chocolate or french fries to save his life.

Check out the drool hanging off of her chin in photo #4. This baby was sucking on dry dog food and salivating over it. Strange and GROSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Twins Travel in Style!!!

Whoever said that having twins "cramps your style" is so totally wrong. We get treated like celebrities... now I'm not agreeing that that's a good thing. There truly is NOTHING great about feeling like every where you go the Paparazzi is following you. I do agree, however, that you can be a mom and still be hip. Even if it means the "hipness" has to be diverted to your children. Let's face it, when your a parent, every last dime you have gets spent on your kids. So, I have resorted to a mini van, a baby bjorn and a double stroller. All of those things I swore I would NEVER have regardless of if I became a parent or not. I felt it was time to rid of those infant carriers and spruce of the mini van a bit.

Check out Lilah and Jaxon's new convertible car seats. I had these covers custom made.

Now, we travel in style!!!!

A "Ride Along" With Lilah & Jax!

I've noticed over the last 11 months that somethings just don't accommodate twins as an entity. If you go to the grocery store, the store may or may NOT have a shopping cart for "two". When Lilah and Jax were smaller, I could fit them in the double shopping cart, with the single cart cover, and place both of their legs in ONE of the shopping cart cover's leg holes. NOW, Jax, especially, needs both leg holes. Ever seen a double shopping cart cover?

Have you ever seen a double pack n play? I haven't.

Have you ever seen a baby bjorn for twins? I'm not sure I have. If one exists, I am positive it's double the price. Okay, so that's to be expected and maybe that's why I don't have a double baby bjorn (if it exists) or a double cart cover, simply because they're not worth purchasing. The price and the amount of time it's used is just not enough to justify the purchase.

Today, I had to use a ride along toy, made for a single child, work for a the "twice as nice" duo. I thought this was so cute. Brother and sister together, as usual, enjoying some fun. Lilah was in the driver's seat FIRST and then brother said, "Move over woman! You don't know how to drive." Typical man. LOL!

By the way, this is truly the worst presentation of my kids ever. Our household is having a "stay in your pjs all day" kind of day. We are going for the unmake-upt, hair messy, one sock on, one sock off, scraggly look today. Do you blame us????? It's SNOWING again here.

I just love them.
