Four Months Pregnant!

Much change has occured since the last time I took pictures of my growing belly! Yet, I have only gained 7 pounds in four months. Pretty remarkable considering I am holding TWO babies in there, right?

Today, we had a check up and it appears that everything sounds great! "Baby A" had a heartbeat of 150 and "Baby B" had a heartbeat of 158. It's nice that they have different heartbeats so the doctor can guarantee that he "found" both of them with the dopler. NO sonogram today though. :(

Our next appointment is in two weeks. I will be able to get another sonogram at that appointment. This sonogram is important to my doctor as well as to us because he will be checking each of the baby's extremities and vital organs. Of course, we are anxious to get the sonogram for other reasons too (ie. to confirm the accuracy of the 12 week sonogram stating we are having ONE boy and ONE girl!!!!).

As usual, I will keep you posted! Enjoy the pictures of "our" growth.

PS. We received crib #2 today. Wow, that sounds weird to vocalize. The nursery is coming together slowly but surely. It won't be transforming the way we would like it to until we know for sure what the sexes are.

Enjoy viewing the growth of Baby A and Baby B via belly pictures.
Notice the shine to my belly? I use mounds of cocoa butter and vitamin E oil everyday to help prevent those horrible stretch marks. It worked with Pregnancy #1

Pregnancy Perks!

On Friday, Darren and I took a road trip to Highpoint, North Carolina to purchase furniture for our basement. Afterwards, we took Ty to the "celebration station", we went out to eat, and then we headed to Babies R Us. It was there that I realized pregnancy does have a few perks. I took advantage of the "Expectant Mothers Parking" spot. When else will I ever have an excuse to be lazy and not have to park far away? LOL!!!!

Test Results!

Today, my doctor called to give us the genetic test results of the twins. God has his powerful hands on my children and with much relief the test results came back negative. Just a small post for a BIG blessing. Thank you to those who have been praying for this pregnancy and the health of my growing babies. GOD IS GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Forecast Is In?

A baby boy and a baby girl are predicted! Today, was our 12 week check up. It went really well. Our first stop was to the sonogram room. We were fortunate enough to have the same sonogram technician as we did at the first appointment. When she greeted me, we both chuckled simultaneously and she said, "You seem to be in better spirits today! Much happier!!!" And, yes, she was right. I am totally accepting of this pregnancy and Darren and I are both actually pretty darn excited. Again, this is an experience of a lifetime. Now... ask me how I feel the day they're born, when the real challenges begin. LOL!

Anyway, the sonogram technician said "because I really like you guys I am going to tell you MY GUESS on their sexes!" She said as early in the pregnancy as I am she is not always 100% accurate, but she said she is typically 70% accurate. And again, being that I am 6-8 weeks ahead of a single pregnancy, the babies are a bit more visual, if you know what I mean. So, the weather forecast predicts BABY A = GIRL and BABY B = BOY. The boy had quite a bit of substance in between his legs and the girl had only a white dot. Baby A is measuring about 12.3 weeks old and Baby B is measuring about 13.4 weeks old. Almost the same size. Oh yeah, we also got a 4-D sonogram (not ordered by the doctor, she did it because "she likes us"). I just love that sonogram technician. I hope we get her EVERYTIME!

Both babies are growing great! The little boy was moving around like crazy and the little girl was sucking her already thumb. The little girl is smooshed at the bottom and is as calm as could be. The health of the babies appear perfect, but only the blood test results (which arrive next week) will be the true testimony. God has been good to us this far, so I have no fears that he is still in control and will bless us with healthy children.

My doctor said he was surprised at how little I was showing and how tiny I am, but he said he is NOT concerned. He said the babies are growing at a great speed and heart rates are strong.

He did find the reason for the blood last week. I had a polyp on my cervix which he removed (no pain involved) and he will send off for tests to insure there are no cancerous cells involved.

Keep your fingers crossed the sonogram technician was accurate. Our first preference was one boy and one girl. :) YEAH!!!!! I cannot wait to by my daughter's first PINK outfit.

Baby A - Sucking Thumb - IT'S A GIRL!

BABY B - Moves Like A Wild Man - It's a BOY!

"Where's The Babies?"

Do you remember that commercial Wendy's used to have regarding the beef of other food chains' burgers? They would compare their burger to another chain's burger and say, "Where's the beef?" Well that's what I feel like saying about these twins. "Where are they?" I am now 3 months pregnant and really show little to no signs of where they exist. Don't get me wrong, I'm in no rush to get big, but with two in there, it really does make me wonder where they are. I guess working out has really helped keep those extra pounds off that most pregnant women seem to gain because they are "eating for two". Meanwhile, I'm eating for three.

When I was pregnant with Ty, I documented his growth, by taking pictures of my belly on a monthly basis, so I figured it was only fair to do the same for the twins. I'm trying to keep everything even Steven.

Take a peak at Week 8 and Week 12. Does it leave you wondering if this pregnancy is made up?
