Naughty and Promiscuous Lilah

Never underestimate the curiosity of your children, especially a 10 month old. I learned this today. Just a soon as I thought my sweet baby girl was innocent, she was proven GUILTY and DEPRAVED. Today, I was out of diapers, so I had to leave the room, with Jax naked, to run downstairs to grab a diaper. When I returned to the room to put a diaper on Jax, I caught Lilah playing with her brother's pee pee. That'll teach me never to leave these two in the room alone ever again :) This is be a fantastic and hilarious black male picture for her wedding day!!!!

I can just hear the talk or see the eyes rolling as you view this picture. Did you expect anything LESS of me. :) Hey, at least it's not a picture of their poop.

PS. This picture was taken with my cell phone so it's not a very clear picture. I guess that's a good thing.

Lilah and Jax's 10-Month-Old Check Up

Today, Lilah and Jax had their 9 month make up doctor visit with Dr. Delaney. It just so happened that they turned 9 months old on Christmas Day, so obviously they were not able to be seen. Hence the reason we had to be seen at month 10.

Lilah and Jax are still a pure joy to be around. We have become quite adjusted to their presence and we are very thankful to God for allowing us to receive two more beautiful blessings. It's not a facade that we put on. We truly do love being parents to 3 children and could not imagine life without ANY of them. As a matter of fact, Darren came to me on New Year's Eve night and said, "We seriously need to be in prayer!" I said, "For what?" He replied, "I really want more children. I mean look at our children. How could you not want more?" I am pretty much dead set against being pregnant again, unless, of course, the Lord impregnates me, then I have no choice but to be a happy pregnant lady. However, I am totally not opposed to being a mom of 4 children. So please, pray for us. After the devastation took place in Haiti, I did a very brief online search/investigation into what it would take to adopt a baby in Haiti. Unfortunately, we haven't been married long enough nor are we old enough yet. I looked into adopting a baby from Columbia, but the cost is well over $40,000.00. Who knows what direction we will go in? Only the Lord really knows. So, please be in prayer for Darren and I.

Back to Lilah and Jax, ha ha

Lilah and Jax are definitely continuing to show signs of having their very own personalities. While they may be twins, they are very different. Some of the things that are the SAME about them are as follows:
  • They both can say "dada and mama"
  • They both can clap
  • They both wave hello!
  • They both love their BIG brother
  • They get excited when Ninja appears in the room.
  • Lilah still loves Shawn and Jax still lights up when Kaitlyn walks in the room.
  • They both sleep insanely well. They go to sleep at 6:30 pm and do not awake until 7:30 am on later MOST mornings.
  • They BOTH have begun crying when mommy or daddy walks out of the room.

Lilah and Jax have been sleeping in separate cribs since 8 months of age. It was hard to separate them, but very much needed. Lilah would hold a death grip on the inside of Jax's cheek and would not let go. I would hear Jax scream bloody murder through the monitor and sure enough I would run up to their room and find out that's exactly why he was screaming. Other nights, Jax's feet would be at Lilah's head and he would lift his legs up high in the air and slam them down as hard as he could, banging them right into Lilah's poor face. She would scream bloody murder and I would run up their to find him abusing her unknowingly.

Lilah and Jax have been promoted to a double umbrella stroller. At the grocery store I use the shopping cart cover and allow them to sit in the front of the shopping cart. It's cute! They have also been promoted to a tub seat vs. a baby tub. They love to splash away in the water. I love watching them appreciate the simple things in life.

I have been giving them table food here and there. Jax doesn't turn a thing down. Lilah has a sensitive gag reflex, so it's not as enjoyable giving her table food. Typically she pukes if she gets something in her mouth that she doesn't like.

Lilah:

Lilah is the best baby anyone could ever ask for. If she wasn't so cute, her presence wouldn't be enough to make known that a baby even existed in the room. She is easily content and pleased. It doesn't take much to entertain her.

Lilah still loves her blanket that "Aunt Donna" gave to her. It is her source of comfort outside of mommy, daddy, big brother, Shawn, or Kaitlyn AND even now MS. JILL. I think that's only because Ms. Jill fed her cake at Gabe's birthday party. Yes, I said cake. HOW DARE HER!

Lilah weighs 17 pounds 4 ounces. Her height is 26.5 inches. Her head size is 17 inches. She is in the 25% percentile all the way around. She's a itty bitty thing. Sadly, she still can fit into many 3-6 month articles of clothing. Otherwise, she is now in 6 to 12 month attire.

Lilah eats every 4 hours still (except between the hours of 9:30 pm and 4:30 am). She is up to 6.5 ounces, 1 yo baby in the morning and 1/2 jar of veggies and 1/2 jar of fruit in the evening.

A few milestones are: clapping, saying dadda and mamma, sitting up on her own, (2) teeth, and rolling over.

Jax:

Jax is the BIG baby of the family. As he gets older, he's happier. And it's not even like he's an unhappy baby. He just is easily irritated, especially by BIG brother. So, as you can see, they are the complete opposite in personality. Regardless, he is insanely adorable and it's easy to forgive his irritability :)

Jax still sucks away on his "binkie" and also loves his blanket that "Aunt Donna" purchased for them before they were born. Outside of his binkie and blanket, mommy, daddy, big brother, Shawn, and KAITLYN are his comfort system. I think if he had to choose Kaitlyn is still is overall favorite. I'm jealous. :( Ms. Jill needs to stay away from Jax. NO CAKE! He's border line over weight. HA HA

Speaking of weight, Jax still weighs 5 pounds MORE than Lilah. He is now 22 pounds 2 ounces. His height is 30 inches. His head size is 18 inches. Dr. Delaney said, "It's time for Jax to come out of the infant carrier!" Oh no! How do I carry one infant carrier and one baby at the same time???? Jax is in the 90% for his age. CHUBSTER! He definitely does NOT fit in 3 to 6 month clothing. I believe he is now able to fit in 12 - 18 month clothing.

Jax eats every 4 hours, just like Lilah. The only difference is he drinks 7 ounces vs. 6.5 ounces. He too enjoys a yo baby yogurt daily, 1/2 jar of veggies and a 1/2 jar of fruit in the evening.

A few milestones are: clapping, saying "momma and dadda", sitting up on his own, (4) teeth, and rolling over. He is a little bit more advanced than Lilah when it comes to attempting to crawl. He is in the very early stages of "scooting" or leaning forward/rocking to reach for something that is out of his proximity.

It's hard to believe that in less than 65 days, Lilah and Jax will be a year old. My how time has flown by. I have already begun planning their first birthday party. You know me, ha ha!!!

God has been so good to Darren and I. He has supplied us with an abundance of team work, patience, energy, and love for all three of our children. I feel so comforted by Him when the rough days arrive, but honestly, they have been FAR AND FEW BETWEEN. I know my days are numbered as the mobility begins to increase. I guess it's time to start child proofing the house.

Thanks to everyone who is a constant in their lives. Who takes an interest in getting to know them. Who sincerely loves them and shows it through not only their words, but their actions. An extra special thanks to Shawn and Kaitlyn for being our lifeline when we need a break. You are just as big of a blessing to our lives as the twins are!
