The New Trend in Baby Gear

I am an huge fan of the website ETSY. One of my favorite past times is to grab a heaping bowl of ice cream (Java Chip by Starbucks) and "shop" on etsy.com I came across these AMAZING and very ADORABLE leg warmers for Lilah and Jax. I bought a few different patterns.
Some of the benefits to baby warmer's are:

  • Diaper changes are made easier. No need to remove tights, dresses, pants etc.
  • Great for potty training. We all know that they wait till the last minute to reveal "I gotta go!"
  • A necessity for crawling and salvaging those sweet legs from rough surfaces.
  • STYLE! Who doesn't want their babies looking CUTE?
  • These warmers can also be used on the arms to dress up or make a simple outfit CUTER.
  • These warmers are CHEAP in price and HIGH quality.
There are a ton of etsy sellers who sell leg warmers. I highly recommend the seller I used. Her company name is knottybabywear. She has so many cute trendy/hip articles of clothing for children of all ages.

Cookie Monster!

Today, I was making a homemade dinner and dessert for a friend who just had a baby. While making the dessert, the babies were getting a little restless, so I took it upon myself to allow Lilah and Jax a sweet treat. It's amazing the liberties you take with your second/third children compared to your first. Today, Lilah and Jax experienced, for the FIRST time, 1/2 of an oreo cookie. I am not completely sure about Lilah yet, but one thing is for SURE, Jax loves chocolate unlike his big brother. He's quite the cookie monster.

"Look Who's Crawling"

Okay, so we are a bit behind schedule but the BIG news is that Jax is officially crawling now. I won't blame anyone in particular on it (SHAWN & KAITLYN), but I will admit that, for now, it's very cute. I am a bit nervous as to how crawling will change my ability to manage life with twins. BUT, I am a little excited that Jax has reached a new milestone in his life. While mobility may create the need for some extra eyes on mommy's end, it will also allow him to get what he wants, when he wants it. Independence is slowly creeping in and I like the sound of that..

The praise is that Jax is crawling. Dr. Delaney said if Lilah or Jax don't crawl by one year of age, they will need physical therapy. I truly rolled my eyes at this news because I knew it was a matter of time before they would crawl.

Darren and I are protesting against child proofing, for now, in this house. However, we will never say "never!" We have a new direction, a new way, and a new rule, you must be OBEDIENT to what we say or else :) We'll let you know how that goes with an 11 month old or 2.

Lilah's Tube Surgery Complete...

Darren and I definitely felt all of the prayers that were being said for our sweet baby girl Lilah. Thank you! With the help of the Higginbotham family and Kaitlyn we had Ty and Jaxon covered. Guys, we cannot thank you enough for the constant help you provide to us with our kiddies. WE are so blessed to have you as our family in Christ. You make it possible for these kinds of things to run smoothly.

We arrived at the hospital at 7:00 am sharp. Lilah's surgery began about 7:50 am. We had to hand her off to the nurse and were not allowed to go watch her be put under the anesthesia. It was sad! She was as happy as can be up until that point. Lilah was returned to us about 8:15 am. She was NOT happy. Very fussy and irate. I think her fussiness was due to her "coming out" of the anesthesia and being starved (since she wasn't able to eat after midnight). We had a bottle waiting for her, but after drinking all of it, she was still angry. Nothing calmed her.

Now, she's as content as can be. You'd never know she even had surgery this morning.
We praise God for giving Dr. Tran the wisdom he needed and a steady hand which allowed the surgery to be a success. The power of prayer is amazing.

We would ask for continued prayer that this surgery helps to eliminate future ear infections which were keeping Lilah unhappy and keeping mommy (especially) and daddy from being able to stay focused on daily responsibility both physically, mentally, and spiritually.

Once we returned home, Lilah got a visit from her BOYFRIEND Shawn. She was all smiles after getting loads of kissies and one-on-one attention from Shawn (sorry. Kaitlyn). It made her day!

Lilah's Set for Surgery

It only makes sense that if Jax had to have surgery, so does his twin sister. Right? Boo Hoo. It's a very simple surgery, but it's never easy knowing your little one is "going under". After 6 ear infections in 3 months, Dr. Delaney sent us to an Ear, Nose, and Throat specialist on Tuesday. Dr. Tran will be doing the tube surgery next Tuesday, February 16th.

Please keep our sweet Liley Bo Biley in your prayers. She is our angel baby. I cannot imagine her getting any sweeter. I hope the surgery doesn't reverse her amazing persona.

Good Thing It's Not Real!

Below is a picture of the importance of teaching children about gun safety. It's a good thing this gun is not real. Jax's big brother has a large collection of guns: from pistols to shot guns. This shot gun happened to be laying around and Jax picked it up. I was mortified when I saw the FIRST thing he did with it. Although most everything goes in a 10 month olds mouth, a gun, fake or not, is not one of those things you anticipate pulling out of it. I wonder what the the NRA would think about this one. Maybe they can use this picture as adverstisement for gun safety.
